My Week In Pictures #4

Happy Sunday!
Now, I'm sure we all knew this day was coming and as it is the 31st of August today this shall be my last daily post, well at least for a while anyway. I go back to school next week and I really don't think it would be possible to be able to balance this, school and a job successfully. However, I will still be posting here regularly, every Sunday and possibly a day in the week too!
Now the name of this post has been irrelevant to this post so far so lets change that and get into what I've got up to this past week.
MONDAY
I watched Taylor's flawless VMA performance of her new single Shake It Off multiple times *including at 3 in the morning but we shan't go into that* then I went to work in the afternoon, although this seems like it has been more than a week since that happened but I'm pretty sure it hasn't.
TUESDAY
Ahh, Tuesday. The day I willing had freezing cold water poured over me for a good cause, and then donated too otherwise it would have been pointless. I didn't quite apprehend how long it would take for me to get dry after that which resulted in me rushing about so I wasn't late to work, but I made it in time so it was fine.
WEDNESDAY
I decided today would be the day where I was really productive and did lots of school work although I ended up taking a break before I'd even started so that didn't go too well and I still have a tonne of work left to do.
THURSDAY
My friends Emily, Louisa, Becca and I went to Kerrys house where I think all we did was laugh for about 5 hours straight, but then again if someone is going to eat a rabbit biscuit that is bound to happen. I then got caught in the rain on my way to Sainsburys to do the food shop for my family and I forgot my headphones, so that's that.
FRIDAY
I'm pretty sure I spent hours online window shopping but I didn't actually buy anything so it was pretty much just another type of procrastination really. Although I think I did some work in the afternoon, but I can't quite remember which is terrible since this was two days ago oops.
SATURDAY
I worked what seemed to be a monstrous shift of six hours which made me super tired but then I proceeded to go out in the evening as it was my friends birthday party, which was great. Complete with bubbles, chocolate, marshmallows and of course bundles of laughter it was a lovely night.
I think this might be the last MWIP post for a while now, but you never know, one might just pop up out of the blue one day!

VMA's 2014 Fashion Favourites

Happy Saturday!
We're so so close to the end of August now so I am most definitely not backing down now. Although saying that I am super tired and its barely even Saturday, but something must be written!
As I'm sure many of you are aware last Sunday was the return of the VMA's and as with the majority of award shows I shall tell you my best dressed celebrities.

As always, I loved the one and only Miss Taylor Swift's outfit, a Mary Katrantzou leotard with plum Elie Sabb shoes. At first I did think it looked like she had forgotten to put some trousers on, but then I decided it isn't really any shorter than the high waisted shorts she often sports and with her legs, why wouldn't you get them out and every opportunity? I love the fact that Taylor's outfit was late 80's inspired, just as her new album will be that I am obviously super excited for already.

I also really liked Lucy Hale's two piece with consisted of a small leather-look crop top and a long midi length embroidered skirt. I just want to zoom in on her skirt and bask in the glory of it's detail. It's just so beautiful.

Jordin Sparks rocked it in a plain white dress which, in theory, could come off as far too simple however she managed to pull it off. I think it was the perfect dress to skin ratio, if you know what I mean. Just enough skin was shown for the dress not to be seen as boring.

I love Beyonce's second third outfit of the night that she wore after being presented with the Video Vanguard award; a floor length burgundy Murad gown.

I also liked Jessie J's performance outfit; a daringly cut yet fully protected short black and white crocodile print dress.

Bourjois Express Eye Make Up Remover // Review

Happy Friday!
The last time I had a bit of a splurge in Boots I came across the Bourjois Express Eye Make Up Remover and thought I'd give it a try as my new waterproof mascara seemed to be undefeated even by make up wipes at the end of the day.
This eye make up remover is probably the best one I've used. There is quite a small opening at the top of the bottle meaning that you can easily place the end of a cotton bud into the solution to correct that pesky winged liner as you go but is also great for the smothering of cotton pads to wipe across your eyes.
As your eyes as a very delicate area you don't really want to be scrubbing the on a daily basis like you would with some make up wipes whereas with this you just have to simply apply a little to a cotton pad a wipe it across your eye and the majority of your make-up will come of first time.
Since buying this product I haven't actually seen it anywhere which is slightly worrying although I know they sell it on ASOS which is great. I payed £5 for my bottle or remover which I think is a very reasonable price considering how big a bottle you get and how little you last each time so it will last for a long time.

Back To School Stationary Haul

Happy Thursday!
Unfortunately, summer is drawing to a close which can only mean one thing, back to school. However awful those three words sound I do always manage to find a positive in going back. New stationary. I just love having everything all clean and tidy for starting a new year, I'm not really too sure why.
I've not even finished buying everything I need for going back to school yet, I still need more folders, a pencil case, a new bag and possibly a few other bits and bobs too, but I thought I'd tell you what I've got so far.
This year I've brought the majority of my things from Sainsbury's as they've had a massive stationary sale lately. I got one large leaver-arch folder with balloons on, and three smaller folders each a different colour, one pink, one coral and one mint green. I then decided to pick up two sets of dividers for my folders because they were 70p and will help to keep my work organised *hopefully*
I normally try to resist the Stabilo pen buying urge but the sale just made me cave, and they have mini ones now so they're even more cute. I picked up a pack of 12 Stabilo mini fineliner's for about £2.50 which I think is a pretty good deal. I also picked up some little Post-It notes as I'm sure they will come in handy with the mountains of text books I'm going to have next year. I decided to pick up another pack of the Uni-ball Singo grip pens as they are my favourite ones to use and just seem to make everything look neater, although it probably isn't.
I'm planning to resort to the online world for a bag and pencil case now as I haven't really seen any I like yet and I'm starting to run out of time.

The Summer Tag!

Happy Wednesday!
The other day I was tagged by my friend Emily to do The Summer Tag, although it feels like summer has been and gone now, but I shall do it nonetheless!
1) Favourite bronzer for summer?
This is a no-brainer for me as it has to be the Soap and Glory Wonderbronze, which you can read a full review of here *cheeky little plug*
2) You're relaxing in a hammock on a tropical island, what are you sipping on?
Well first of all I would be questioning how I managed to get into the hammock in the first place because those things take some serious skill not to fall out off. Hopefully if I were on a tropical island then I would be drinking something far more interesting than plain old water, although I have no idea what exactly.
3) Favourite summer lip product?
Lately, I've really been loving the Carmex tube lip balm in the cherry flavour/scent. I love this as it's really moisturising and also contains SPF 15 which is great for the summer.
4) Pool or beach?
Probably beach because to me that means being on holiday which is always great, although the sand in your shoe's situation is never as fun.
5) Summer = Crazy hair! What's your must have styling product?
My hair doesn't really tend to change in different temperatures, or at least not at the ones we have here in the UK. But I think my summer styling product is probably any dry texturing spray because when the heat has made your hair look all sweaty and gross you can use a bit and people will think you spent ages on your hair.
6) Sun bathing or fake tan?
Ermm, neither? For me fake tan is far too risky and sun bathing just results in me getting really hot and bored.
7) Favourite summer nail polish?
I think for me this has to be the Barry M colour Heather from their silk finish line which gives the polish a slight iridescent look when your wearing it.
8) Any summer traditions?
Not really, just relaxing and having lots of family time really.
9) Favourite summer scent?
Surprise, it's Taylor time! This is obviously Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift for me. I just find it so bright and bold which for some reason reminds me greatly of summer.
10) Favourite BBQ food?
I'm going to be supper boring here and say sausages. I don't really like any of the other typical BBQ foods so that all I have a choice of really.
11) What's your favourite summer proof product?
I'm not really too sure on this one... deodorant? How unglamorous, I know, but it really is important for everyone to stock up on, especially in the summer.
12) Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream trip...
When I was little we always used to go on holiday but now we haven't been in about the last 5 years, however I'd love to take a trip to America some day and just go to as many diffrent states as possible and soak in the fact that I'm probably in the same country as some of my favourite celebrities. That sounds super weird, I know.

My Top 5 TV Shows // TV Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!
I thought I'd do something a little different today and instead of telling you about one show I like, I'd attempt to rate my favourites. I say 'attempt' because I've still not decided which is number 1.
1) NCIS
Although I'm not really too keen on some of the more recent episodes, I think NCIS is my favourite show. I could sit and watch it for hours, and I have. I just love the chemistry been characters and all the different relationship throughout the show and getting to see both the character and actor develop on screen. I love it when that happens in a show.
2) Rizzoli & Isles
Lately this show has really gone up in my rating because I just keep finding my self laughing out loud, and it's not even a comedy show; it's a crime show. I know this is nowhere near as big a show as NCIS and so it doesn't have as big a budget so it's not as great on the technical side, but I love it nonetheless.
3) Bones
I think my third and second place are really close and sometimes Bones does come before Rizzoli & Isles, but not at the moment. I really like Bones but sometimes it gets a bit too gory so I don't like watching it, especially when there's a big serial killer story line.
4) The Big Bang Theory
I've loved this show for about the last three years and I'm so happy it's starting to get the recognition and viewers it deserves. With all the crime shows I watch a lighter, funny option is always great.
5) Castle
I think this is my number five, or it might be Criminal Minds. I'm not too sure. Although saying that it could also be How I Met Your Mother. Or Friends. Or possibly Modern Family. Okay, basically I can't decide on a fifth favourite TV show because I watch far too much TV.

Shake It Off // Music Monday

Happy Monday!
I'm actually really excited to write this post because it pretty much gives me a reason to ramble on about Taylor Swift and her new single Shake It Off.
Last Monday night Taylor held a livestream where she announced her new single and music video as well as some information about her new album 1989 which will be out later this year in October.
I was trying to write this post whilst listening to Shake It Off but I just ended up dancing for 4 minutes so that was unproductive. That's what happens when I hear it though, I just want to get up dance, how ever crazy I look.
This really isn't one of those songs that I can pick apart and decipher a personal meaning for really. I find the song to be pretty self explanatory, but I don't mind that at all. It fun. And I love seeing this side of Taylor because it lets us know that she's okay, and most importantly happy.
I don't really have much else to say apart from that I love this song and I just can't get enough of it!
You can listen to it HERE

My Week in Pictures #3

Happy Sunday!
It's weird to think that this could be my penultimate week in pictures post because next Sunday is the last day in August! Wow, that's gone fast. Lets savour the moment *well month* shall we?
MONDAY
On Monday I decided it was finally time to start the mountains of school work that I have to do, although I wrote about half a page and my arm began to ache. That's how little I've written over the past few months. In the evening Miss Swift did her livestream where she released her new single Shake It Off and gave us all some information about her new album 1989!
TUESDAY

I did some more school work although it seems to of hardly made a dent in my pile of things to do.
WEDNESDAY
Surprise, surprise I did more work! Then I went to do some work that I actually get paid for and did pretty much nothing else all day.
THURSDAY
Ahh, the dreaded results day as arrived. I insisted I wasn't nervous but I think the fact that I'd been up since 4am suggested otherwise. I don't think it was as bad as I thought it would be which is always a positive. After collecting my results all my friends and I gathered to have a High School Musical marathon because that's what every 16 year old does in their spare time.
FRIDAY
On Friday I went to my friends where we had a major catch up as I haven't really seen her for the last 5 weeks. Also, a guest post I wrote went up on my friends blog so you can check that out HERE
SATURDAY
In the morning I went through our old family computer to check there was nothing important on it and ended up going through all my old school work in which my spelling is terrible. I had work during the evening then I came home and had a major baking fest with my sister which ended pretty close to midnight. Oops.

My Top 10 Summer Styles 2014

Happy Saturday!
I know, I know this post is lat even by my standards but I've barely had the time to do anything today and also the lack of working wifi in my house has been an ever growing issue.
Anyway, today I thought I'd tell you my personal top 10 styles from summer this year as the title suggests.
1) Crop tops
2) Flower crowns
3) Frilly socks
4) Round sunglasses
5) Blue eyeliner
6) High waisted shorts
7) Kimono's
8) Layered graphic tee's
9) Strapey Heels (I have no idea what else to call them)
10) Pastel prints
There is a very high chance that I shall update this post tomorrow and make it of a higher quality but right now I am just too tired. Sorry about that.

Life Update // GCSE's and Sixth Form

Happy Friday!
Today I thought would be a rather good time to just sit down and have a little chat, although I'm not really too sure about what yet so this could be interesting.
If you live in the UK then you probably know that yesterday was GCSE results day and having just finished year 11 I have, consequently, just finished my GCSE's. I said yesterday it feels weird to say that they are 'finished' because the last two years of my life have been working towards these exams which is how the education system works here. In September I'll spend another two years working towards some more, much harder exams. Hooray for me. And probably everyone else in the same situation as me right now.
Me being the indecisive person I am, I still haven't chosen what subjects I'm going to be doing when I go back to school in September, but chances are it will be any four from maths, further maths, biology, English lit and lang (literature and language), psychology or textiles. Although saying that I've hardly done any of the work I need to do for maths, further maths, biology or textiles so I've got a lot to do over the next few weeks. I was hoping that getting my GCSE results would make my decision easier but it hasn't changed anything.
I know this shouldn't be something that I worry about, but I'm rather concerned about wearing my own clothes next year as the sixth form at my school doesn't have a set uniform. I don't know why this scares me slightly, I just feel like I don't have enough clothes although the lack of space in my wardrobe suggests otherwise.
Since I truly have no idea where this post is going I feel like I should wrap it up here before it ends up a complete shamble.
Also, today a guest post that I did on my friend Emily's blog went up so you can check that out HERE.

Simple Hydrating Light Moisturiser // Review

Happy Wednesday!
Today I thought I'd talk to you about a moisturiser that I've been using a lot recently which is the Simple Kind to Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser.
PERFORMANCE
On parts of my skin that is neither dry nor greasy it makes my face feel like velvet as soon as I apply it. However, on the more drier parts of my face, for example around my nose, it takes more of a consistent approach to get the same effect. You can't just expect to use this product once and expect your skin to feel incredibly smooth, but if you repeatedly use it  then you will get there sooner rather than later.
APPEARANCE

The bottle is 125ml and follows the branding of the rest of the Simple products; white base and green writing. The bottle does originally come in a box which I personally feel helps the presentation value when you come across it in a store as it makes everything seem more uniform. But I'm pretty sure it's only me that prefers when things are in boxes.
PRICE

I brought this product when there was an offer on the Simple range so it was cheaper than what it usually is, however if you shop about a bit you're bound to find an offer on somewhere. This product retails for £3.99 I believe, which I don't really think is expensive and is about par for Simple products. I think the product is good value for money as the product does work and will, most likely, last you a long time.

Castle // TV Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!
Today, I thought I'd share with you a show that I have completely fallen in love with over the last year, which is Castle.
I think my favourite genre of TV shows is crime drama's and I have no idea why, however Castle fits perfectly into this group.
The show, set in NYC, revolves around the homicide detective Kate Beckett and a male author who basically follows her around to gain inspiration for his books called Richard Castle, or at least that's how it was made out when the show first started almost 7 years ago. Now it's more a case of Kate does the detective work and Richard chimes in with these wild, imaginative ideas that some how solve the case 65% of the time.
I've realised what I have just written sounds rather weird, and if you think about it, the concept of the show it quite original really.
At times the show is rather light hearted, which I really like, and then once or twice each season there's a really intense storyline which could potentially make you cry *or if you're like me it will definitely make you cry*
Castle is probably my favourite show to watch to find new music and new artists. They often include really heart wrenching songs at pinnacle points so whenever you hear that song again you instantly think of that scene. A weakness of mine is In My Veins by Andrew Belle, that song wants to make me ball my eyes out, and trust me it has done more than once.
As previously mentioned, the namesake of the show Castle is an author and what I find incredibly amazing about is that the books this fictional character writes actually exist. You can physically buy the books written and spoken about in the show. However, the authors name on the books is Richard Castle so no one actually knows who writes these books. It has been said that it is an author that has appeared in the show before which narrows it down greatly, but still no one knows for certain who the author actually is.

The Quickest Post Ever

Happy Monday!
Technically it is still Monday, only just however.
I promised to post everyday, so today is no exception even though it's 23:39pm and I've spent the last two hours shaking and crying hysterically and you have Miss Swift to blame for that. She just released a new single, music video, album cover and a bunch of other life changing information for a die hard Swiftie *AKA me*
I know the majority of you will be like 'well why didn't you write it earlier then' and I was going to... but I was trying to be all productive with school work and all that, which sort of, kind of, not really worked. I wrote about two pages and I have about another 50 to do. Fab.
I promise you there shall be a better post tomorrow!
Sorry about this shamble, but thanks for reading it nonetheless!

My Week in Pictures #2

Happy Sunday!
Following on from what happened here on this blog last Sunday, we are going to have our second edition of My Week in Pictures which I have since noticed doesn't really contain many pictures, but we're going to go with it anyway.
MONDAY
On Monday I went to my friend Emily's house where we successfully did nothing productive, however I did manage to drop an ice lolly over myself and also my phone. Monday was also the day that Taylor Swift announced her livestream which is tomorrow *eeeeeekkk*
TUESDAY
I was at work for about 7 hours so that managed to consume the majority of my day, then after I came home and watched The Great British Bake Off which is about all that happened in the evening.
WEDNESDAY
I was, yet again, at work for a prolonged period of time. I've been called in so much this week I can barely remember when and for how long. Oh and Taylor Swift spent the day with Lena Dunham hence the picture of a cute lady with an even cuter cat.
THURSDAY
I went to the beach!!! It feels like I haven;t seen the sea in so long when in reality it was just a year ago. My mum, sister and I spent the day in Great Yarmouth where we did some shopping, some crazy golf playing, some sand running *which is pretty much impossible* and we also got rained on which called an end to our day at the sea side.
FRIDAY
Surprise, surprise, I was called into work again but this time only for four hours yay! We also got a new washing machine because ours was leaking to no end, and I got a cool octopus biscuit with a face on it that made me laugh.
SATURDAY
Taylor Swift did the ALS Ice Bucket challenge after being tagged by Ingrid Michaelson and Lily Aldridge, and also donated thousands to the cause, which made me love her even more which I didn't know was possible. I then helped my dad fit a new kitchen floor because the leaking washing machine had ruined ours and that is pretty much my day complete!

Teen Choice Awards 2014 Fashion Favourites

Happy Saturday!
If you, like me, are a teen then I'm sure you will know that last Sunday was the Teen Choice Awards over in America. And as always with award shows, my favourite part was seeing what everyone was wearing on the blue carpet.
Lets kick things off with the one and only Taylor Swift, shall we? She wore a beautiful green tweed crop top and matching skirt from the Novis NYC Spring 2014 collection which she paired with yellow Charlotte Olympia heels.

Sarah Hyland, the host of the evening, started off in a dark, sequin covered Marc Jacobs dress, before changing into other various outfits, in true hostess style.

Nina Dobrev also wore a crop top but decided to pair it with some high waisted shorts, both from Vionnet. When I first saw this outfit I thought I really liked it but now I'm not too sure. I think I quite like the top but I'm just not a fan of the pink placement on the shorts.

Ariana Grande looked as cute as ever in a sparkling white mini dress from Georges Chakra.

Chloe Graz Moretz wore a red Valentino jacket and shorts with a black bandeau. I love the shorts and jacket, I'm just not too keen on the bandeau though. I sort of think it looks like she forgot to buy a top and I think the outfit would have looked much better with an unfitted black shirt.

Soap & Glory Wonderbronze // Review

Happy Friday!
Today I thought I'd do a little review of the Soap & Glory Wonderbronze that I brought a few months ago.
According to the Soap & Glory website, this product contains "instant-tan tinted luminospheres" to give you a natural sun kissed glow. When ever I wear this product I feel more tanned but I'm not really to sure whether that's just because I know I'm wearing it or if others can see it too.
The product is part of the Shimmer Brick range so its made up of five different shades ranging from a white with a slight bronze hint all the way round to a rather intense bronze. I never really use the darkest shade but I tend to just swirl my brush around in the other four.
I think the product is well packaged and has a good mirror on one side.
At a first glance, the product seems very shimmery but I don't find the product to be like that once your wearing it, and most of the initial shimmer seen in the packaging rubs off quite quickly.

The Sunkissed Summer Tag

Happy Thursday!
I haven't really done a tag post in a while and I've seen this one floating around the internet lately so why not?
1. What is your go-to product for a sun kissed summer glow?
I've never really been one for fake tan purely because off the fear of being a walking orange glob, so my go-to product is probably the Soap and Glory Wonderbronze just which gives you a little bit of a tan and makes it look like you do actually leave your house on a regular basis.
2. What book would you recommend for a summer read?
I think of summer as being happy so I think that happy books fit perfectly. I really like I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella who I've decided is my favourite 'girly' author, so basically her books aren't about people exploding or killing each other. I also highly recommend the Shopaholic series.
3. What's your signature summer scent this year?
I'm pretty sure this perfume is the same one I wore last summer and that's Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift. Could it really have been anything else? It's rather fruity and bold which I think makes it great for summer.
4. The sun is shining and it's time to get outside! What's your favourite thing to do?
I really like meeting up with friends and pretty much just seeing where the day takes us. If it's really nice weather then we might go to the park or nip into town for a bit.
5. You're in the broadwalk and your stomache is grumbling. What's your go-to summer beach food?
Okay, I have no idea what a broadwalk is so we're going to go with a pier and if I were on a pier then I'd be by the sea which can only mean one thing. Fish and Chips. It's a sea side must.
6. Suncream is always important, but it's a MUST in summer! What's your favourite?
I quite like the Banana Boat Sports Lotion in SPF50 but that might be because I like to say 'banana boat'. We never seem to have this at home so most of the time I use the Nivea Sun Spray in SPF 50.
7. After a day in the sun and heat, what do you do to cool off?
I'd love to be able to say 'oh I just jump in the pool in the garden' but that would be a slight issue considering we don't have a pool. I just tend to find the coolest room in the house and watch some TV for a bit until I feel less sweaty and disgusting.
8. How do you wear your hair in the summer?
If it's really hot then I tend to have it up in a bun just so it's out of my face and off my neck which helps to make me a little cooler.
9. Must-have summer nail polish for summer 2014?
I really like pastel colours in the summer and recently I've really been loving the Barry M Silk collection in the shade Heather which is a light, slightly iridescent, purple.
10. Sometimes it just feels good to chill out and watch Netflix. What shows/movies do you recommend for summer?
This summer I've really been loving Dance Mom's and Catfish, although neither of them are actually on Netflix, so I've been re-watching a fair few of the Marvel films.
11. Do you wear liquid foundation, BB cream or tinted moisturiser in the summer?
The majority of the time in the summer I just don't bother with make up at all because most days I'm not doing anything of any significance, so I don't really mind how bad I look.
12. It's super bright outside! Do you reach for sunglasses or a hat?
I love wearing hats but more so in the winter than in the summer, so sunglasses it is. Although I do often get worried that I'm going to end up with sunglasses tan lines across my face which is never a good look.
13. What is your summer jam this year?
Lately, I've really been loving Rude by Magic, Ghost by Ella Henderson and also Budapest by George Ezra.
14. Do you have a summer bucket list? If so, share some things on the list.
This is going to sound weird but one of the things on my bucket list is to learn how to play chess and that hasn't happened yet so I best get cracking.
15, Bikini, tankini or one piece? Show us your fave bathing suit this year!
Okay, this is also weird but I don't actually own any form of swimming attire and haven't done for about the last five years so I should probably change that.
16. Summer means heat... and sweat! What's your favourite sweat proof product this year?
I find this a really weird question to answer, so I'm just going to go with deodorant. I like to use the Sure Lasting Perfection in Bright which smells rather floral and definitely helps combat the sweating issue that we all know too well.
17. Summer wouldn't be complete without a scoop (or two) of ice cream! If you could create your own ice cream flavour, what would it be?
It would probably be some sort of cookie dough and marshmallow blend. Oh I really want to try that now.

Babylis Curl Secret

Happy Wednesday!
Today I thought I'd do a review of the Babylis Curl Secret that I got for Christmas last year.
PERFORMANCE
To curl your hair with this you take a section, about an inch wide (maximum) and place it into the barrel with the circular ring facing towards your head. You then hold together the curler and the hair is sucked in until you hear a row of three consecutive beeps indicating you should let the hair down.
The strength of curl created depends on the heat of the curler and also the time setting selected. There are three different heat settings with the highest being 230 degrees and also three different timer settings which are 8, 10 and 12 seconds.
I tend to use this curler on the highest heat and longest time setting which gives me tight curls that I can always make loser by brushing through them afterwards.
The only thing I don't really like about this product is the fact that you can achieve one size of curl.
APPEARENCE
The curler came rather securely packaged with a heat proof mat and also a case. The product itself is a deep metallic purple, which I love. Before owning this product I thought I would get confused about which way to hold the curler however it's clearly indicated on the side so that really isn't a problem.

PRICE
I know this product very expensive and there has been a lot of talk about whether it's too overpriced and I can't seem to make my mind up on that. The product is good and probably is the best curler I've ever used, but I think the price comes from the new technology that's used within the product. I've never seen something practically suck in your hair before so I find that pretty amazing, and also worth the extra money.

Dance Moms // TV Tuesday

Happy TV Tuesday!
As given by today's title, I've recently started watching an American reality show called Dance Mom's which, as the title suggests, is about the mothers of children who dance, although it is equally about the children also.
When my sister started watching this show last year I thought it was a slightly pathetic thing to watch and I just couldn't get my head around why she continued to watch some poor little girls get shouted at week after week for not pointing their toes or straightening their back leg, but after watching a few episodes I started to understand how invested you become in the girls. That's the main reason I watch the show, for the girls, not really for the mums, or Abby, I just like to see how they're getting on each week with the new dance's they've been set and all the pretty hair, make up and costumes at the competitions.
I know with a lot of reality show's these days there are parts that are scripted and that could well be the case with this show, I don't know, but either way it manages to brighten my day just a little bit.
I really think you should give the show a try before you judge it, unlike I did, because you may end up loving it.

Blood Brothers ~ Ingrid Michaelson // Music Monday

Happy Monday!
Today, I thought I go back to what I used to do every week which was tell you about a song that I had been loving.
I recently discovered an American artist called Ingrid Michaelson through her song Girls Chase Boys *which I love* and since then I've fallen in love with pretty much all of her songs although lately I've really been loving her song called Blood Brothers.
I didn't actually realise how repetitive the song is until it came to writing this post but I really don't mind that at all otherwise I would have picked up on that fact much sooner.
One of my favourite lines in the song is
"We're all the same, under a different name"
which I think sums up the whole song perfectly, and also the music video.
I love how this song really pushes forward the idea of equality but in a different way and not just going 'yay for equality' because that could be rather boring, however true I think it is.
I think it's equality plays a vital part in life in general and I'm very proud to say that where I live it is what is expected of a person and very one is very polite and accommodating to all.
I love the whole concept of the music video. I think it's very original and speaks just as loud as the song does. You can watch it down below.

My Week in Pictures #1

Happy Sunday!
Woo we've successfully made it through our first week of daily blogging. I say "we've" because I sort of feel like this has been a group effort and is something to be proud about.
Now, I don't know about you but I feel like a lot has happened this week and I'm not entirely sure why. Actually that could be the fault of Miss Swift and her mysterious clue giving which never fails to make everyone go crazy.
Rambling aside, lets actually get on with what happened this week, shall we?
MONDAY
I went into town with my mum to do a bit of shopping and then we went to Matalan where they currently have a huge sale on so I managed to pick up a few bits *a haul shall be up in a few days*
Judging by the pictures I have on my phone, this is also the day that Taylor released the first clue about her fifth album.
TUESDAY
I had quick a little clear out of my wardrobe as I struggled to get my clothes out of it that morning and then I took some of the things I was getting rid of into a charity shop in town. I'm not really too sure what happened for the rest of the day, so it can't have been anything exciting!
WEDNESDAY
This was a very productive day, even if I do say so myself. Everyone was out of the house by 7am so I made the most of that time and went for a run with my dog, which was surprisingly enjoyable considering I'm not really a fan of sport or exercise in general really. After a while I went into town and treated myself to The Hunger Games DVD because for some odd reason I don't actually own it. I then did some scrapbooking and prepared some things for posts that were coming later on in the week.
THURSDAY
I did the 'big shop' as it's known in my house which is basically the weekly food shop and then I decided to tidy the cupboards in the kitchen which took about two hours as I ended up throwing away a lot of things that where out of date. I also tried my very first toffee popcorn cupcake that I had brought from Sainsbury's that morning which was very nice, especially since it had some hidden toffee inside.
FRIDAY
I had work in the morning in my uniform which is all pretty much two sizes too big, so my trousers ended up getting ridiculously dusty at the bottom, but it was still rather fun nonetheless.
In the evening Jimmy Fallon tweeted a video that Taylor (Swift) had made of herself which completely made my day.
SATURDAY
I woke up nice and early so I could finish off yesterdays post as I didn't have a chance to on Friday and then I went to work for a bit. I just spent the evening watching TV with my family as a new show on BBC called Tumble started about gymnastics and also Got to Dance started again which basically took up my whole evening.
SUNDAY
I've just got in from work and now I'm writing this so not much has happened today, and chances are nothing much will. My plans are literally to sit here and just relax.
I hope you all had a great week.
See you tomorrow!

Taylor Swift's Style // Style Saturday

Happy Saturday!
As I'm sure many of you know, I'm a pretty bug fan of Taylor Swift *to put it lightly* and lately, I think I've been loving her style more than ever. I love the fact that she pairs high end, designer clothes with things from places that we'd shop at like H&M and Topshop.
Some of the high-street bands that Taylor has really been loving lately are TopShop, Urban Outfitters and American Apparel so I thought I'd show you some of the things she's been wearing and where you can get them!

Some of the more high-end places that Taylor likes to shop at are Reformation and Alice + Olivia.

Scrapbooking Ideas!

Happy Friday!
A little while ago a new Hobbycraft opened near me so it would have been rude not to go and check it out, right? I mean they had 15% off that weekend and everything so I just had too.
Whilst I was wondering around I found this little 'La De Dah' section which was full of scrap-booking things and little scrapbooks themselves. I found everything there so cute so I just couldn't resist not buying it, and it was the only one left so it was a must.
I realised the other day that despite being so excited when I actually brought the book I have barely touched it since. I then found myself googling things for inspiration of different designs and layouts so I thought I'd show you what I've come up with so far in case any of you could do with a little inspiration yourself.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer Review

Happy Thursday!
I know I'm the very last person to jump on the band wagon but today I thought I'd write a review of the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, although I'm pretty sure the majority of you already own it or at least seen someone rave about it before, but either way, I thought I'd add my opinion into the mix.
The majority of the reviews I have seen about this concealer sing it's praises which made me think that it must be some sort of miracle in a bottle *well technically it's a tube*. I think the concealer is okay but nothing special. Unpopular opinion, I know.
I don't know if it's just mine, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't smell right. It sort of smells like the sort of make up you have for playing dress up when your little so that never really encourages me to put it on my face. However the product is rather cheap at £4.19, so I don't really think it's fair to expect an amazing product for the price you're paying.
I thought the coverage was okay, I've definitely seen worse and I've definitely seen better. I've found that after a while it starts to settle into the lines around my eyes, especially if I've been laughing or smiling a lot.
On the bottle the product claims to have a 16 hour staying power, and it's not a lie. Today I've had the concealer on for about 14/15 hours and it's still on my face which is one thing, however it has started the fade and because of that it looks a bit yellow on me at the moment.
I think this concealer is good if your on a budget, however if you do have that little bit more money to spend I'd probably advise going for a slightly more expensive concealer.

Umberto Giannini Curl Friends Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Happy Wednesday!
Today I thought I'd do a little review of a shampoo and conditioner duo that I've been loving recently. That is, if you haven't already guessed by the title, the Umberto Giannini Curl Friends Shampoo and Conditioner
I was originally brought these in a set for Christmas by my sister last year, and somehow I've managed to make them last 7 months *whaaat* but that's because I only use them once a week. I do this to make the products last longer as they are more expensive than my usual shampoo and conditioner. I believe they are usually £5.50 each in Boots however there's an offer on at the moment which means you can get them both and one other Umberto Giannini product for £12.
I've never really been to fussy about what shampoo I use before because I've never really noticed much of a difference in my hair afterwards, however these products really help to make my hair extra curly and help hold that curl throughout the day.
When I use this duo I usually wash my hair at night and then let my hair air-dry slightly before going to bed. I then split my hair into two sections and create two buns of the top of my head and secure them. When I wake up in the morning and take my hair down it's super curly so it looks like I've spent long time doing my hair in the morning when in fact I've just taken a few hair bands and bobby pins out of it. I love it.
I didn't really notice a difference until I ran out of shampoo the other week and just used another one I had near by. I put my hair up into buns like I normally do but when I woke up in the morning it was like there was no point in doing it because my hair was pretty much the same as it normally is. For me, that just proves how much of a difference these products actually make to your hair.
I've already repurchased these products once and I'm sure I will be doing so many times in the future.

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D // TV Tuesday

Happy Tuesday!
Following on from Music Monday we have TV Tuesday although I'm sort of running out of other alliterative themes so don't expect this for the rest of the week.
In September I started seeing adverts for a Marvel TV show which intrigued me greatly being a fan of Marvel films *and the occasional comic*. Although I was confused as to how it was going to work, whether they where going to try and fit a movie plot into an hour show each week or if they were going to basically split a movie up into hour segments. I didn't really know what to expect but that just made me want to watch it even more.
I watched the first episode with my mum who didn't really rate the show at all but then again she's not really a fan of the Marvel films or the whole superhero concept in general. I, however, thought the first episode was quite good as first episodes go. I instantly warmed to the characters, especially since two of them are British *and hot*.
Originally, I stuck with the show because I liked the concept and the characters but after a few months the show really picked up a notch and became very intense and shocking.
I don't really want to say too much because I don't want to ruin it for anyone but I don't think anyone saw it coming and I now struggle to watch the start of the season in the same way because of what happened.
Something I really like about the show is how it ties in with the Marvel films. When the new Captain America film came out in March the show carried on right where the film left of which is great of big Marvel fans and really shows just how thought out the whole Marvel universe is.
Season one of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D finished in May with many, many cliff hangers which I can barely wait to be resolved in September when the show embarks on its second season.
Below is the first trailer for the show that was aired in September in case you too are intrigued about this show I have recently become obsessed with.

Schhol's Out Playlist // Music Monday

Happy Monday!
I've sort of decided that for the month of August I will dedicate Monday's posts to music, whether that be telling you about a current favourite song or artist or maybe even creating a playlist full of songs I love which is what's going on today.
As August is here, summer is here. Well that's how it works in my mind anyway. As a result of that I've created a playlist full of start of the summer songs. Yes, I know, some of them are rather cheesy but they never fail to put me in a good summer-y mood.
If my technology skills are of an average level then hopefully you'll be able to listen to the playlist below however if they aren't feel free to click here.

Okay, I don't think I'm capable of embedding the player into this post so if you would like to listen to the playlist then please follow the link above.
Thanks for reading and happy listening!

What's in my Summer Bag?

Happy Sunday!
Today I thought I'd create  post telling you all about the essentials that I carry about in my bag on a day-to-day basis. Mainly because I love reading these posts and watching videos on the topic too because its basically just another way to be nosey.
I normally tend to switch between an old black satchel bag that could really do with being replaced or a brown Mischa Barton bag which is also starting to look a little worse for wear.
In the summer, these are some essentials that I like to carry around with me:
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Purse
Phone
Headphones
Plasters
Hand Sanitiser
Deodorant
Perfume/Body Spray
Tissues
A Pen *or usually multiple pens*
Mints
Hair Bands and Hair Grips
A Cereal Bar and Water *only if I know
that I'm likely to need them*
